Apartment Doors
An apartment entrance door sits between a private home and a public corridor, so it has three jobs at once:
hold back fire for the required period, keep the hallway quiet, and secure the flat. We manufacture entrance doors rated to EI-60, supplied with the test report and Declaration of Conformity that a developer or building inspector will ask for.

EI-60, with the paperwork to prove it
EI-60 means the door assembly maintained its integrity and insulation for 60 minutes under test. Our entrance doors are tested under BDS EN 948:2001 (fire resistance of doorsets) and BDS EN 1191:2013 (reaction to and resistance of components), and we supply a copy of the Test Report and the Declaration of Conformity with every certified door.
That documentation matters as much as the rating itself. On a multi-unit project, being able to hand the building control officer a named, dated protocol rather than a marketing claim is what keeps a programme on schedule.
Acoustic separation from the corridor
Noise between a corridor and a flat is one of the most common complaints in apartment living, and the entrance door is usually the weakest element in the separating wall. The aluminium-and wood leaf carries real mass — tested at [Rw __ dB] — and the frame takes a continuous compressible seal, so the closed door behaves like part of the acoustic barrier rather than a hole in it.
Security as a standard, not an upgrade
Multi-point locking, a rigid aluminium structure and a leaf edge that resists levering come as standard on our entrance doors. Where a development specifies a higher security class or smart access integration, we build to that specification rather than shipping a fixed model.
Specified per project, delivered at volume
Each apartment door is made to the opening dimensions and finish on your drawings — but a development of sixty flats does not need sixty conversations. We work from a single specification sheet, produce a consistent batch, and supply matching hardware and frames so the installation runs as one coordinated operation. For manufacturers, we also supply aluminium profiles and blanks to produce to the same system locally.

What does EI-60 mean on an apartment door?
EI-60 is a fire-resistance rating. Under test, the door assembly maintained its integrity (E) and insulation (I) for 60 minutes. It describes how the complete doorset — leaf, frame, seals and hardware — performed as an installed system.
Which standards are your fire doors tested to?
Our entrance doors are tested under BDS EN 948:2001 (fire resistance of doorsets) and BDS EN 1191:2013 (reaction to and resistance of components), and we supply a copy of the Test Report and the Declaration of Conformity with every certified door.
Can an EI-60 door be customized in size and finish?
Yes. The rating applies to the doorset as manufactured to your dimensions and finish specification. Send us your drawings and required finish and we will confirm the configuration that stays within the tested scope.
How quiet is an apartment entrance door?
The mass-loaded leaf and continuous perimeter seal give a measured acoustic performance of [Rw __ dB].
Noise reduction figures can be supplied with your specification on request.
Can you supply sixty identical doors for a development?
Yes — we work from a single specification sheet, produce a consistent batch with matching hardware and frames, and coordinate delivery so installation runs as one operation. For larger developments we can also supply aluminium profiles and blanks to your joinery partner.
